A true princess, and her fairytale story!
When Colleen first contacted us, I (Gabby) was lucky enough to have the opportunity to chat with her on the phone. She totally made my day when she told me that her mom was so bowled over by our website and images that she gasped, and said “if you hire them, I’ll let them do my make up!”… and she did!
When we met Colleen, Kathleen (her mom) and Deirdre (her sister) for their trials, we connected with them right away - what a super sweet, open and grounded family!
Colleen wanted a soft, romantic feel to her hair and makeup, with a subtle winged liner for a touch of drama. She chose a gorgeous hairpiece, and a stunning veil for the ceremony. Her sister Dierdre is very much a free spirit in her nature. Giving her the role of Junior Flower Girl really gave us a chance to get creative with her dreadlocked hair, and we were able to incorporate fresh flowers into a large flowing braid over one shoulder.
Now, why do we call Colleen and Shannon’s love story a fairytale? Well, there are so many incredible stories surrounding this beautiful couple that make them qualify for the term.
The wonderfully romantic groom Shannon made the proposal a true adventure. He traveled to the only mine in the country in search of “THE” Diamond himself, and then created a scavenger hunt ending in a magical proposal and surprise celebration party with family and friends.
We’re so grateful that we got to be part of the most important day in their beautiful lives and super proud of how incredible Colleen, her mom, sister, and all of her bridesmaids looked for this unforgettable wedding!
The Airlie is one of our favorite venues, and the Groom’s cottage is the perfect little secluded getting ready location. The weather was perfect, and we feel so lucky to have played our part in bringing their vision to life!
Here’s to their happily ever after! Cheers!
